Chinchwad, 6th November 2024: Today, at a campaign event for Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) candidate Shankar Jagtap in the Chinchwad Constituency for the upcoming Maharashtra Legislative Assembly Elections, Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis visited Chinchwad. While addressing the rally, Fadnavis remarked that Sharad Pawar is the “owner of the fake narrative factory,” with his daughter, Supriya Sule, as its “director.” Fadnavis also revealed that Maharashtra ranks first in investment received across the entire nation.

Present at the rally to support Shankar Jagtap, alongside DCM Fadnavis, were prominent leaders including Maval MP Shrirang Barne, current Chinchwad MLA Ashwini Jagtap, MLC Uma Khapre, and local leaders Yogesh Behl, Vitthal Kate, Shatrughna Kate, and others. Before beginning his speech, Fadnavis paid tribute to the late Chinchwad MLA Laxman Jagtap for his contributions to the area’s development, praising his wife Ashwini and brother Shankar for continuing his work. He also expressed gratitude to Mahayuti leaders for their support of Shankar Jagtap in this election.

Devendra Fadnavis said, “Pimpri Chinchwad is a rapidly growing city, and for this expanding population, 100 MLD of water was provided from the Andra Dam and 160 MLD from the Bhama Askhed Dam. However, candidate Shankar Jagtap tells me this is still not enough for the city’s needs. In his presence, I promise you all that the Mahayuti government, under the leadership of Chief Minister Eknath Shinde, will ensure Pimpri Chinchwad never faces a water shortage. We will utilise water from additional dams to fulfil the city’s demand.”

Speaking on the traffic issues in Pune District, Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis mentioned that the government is actively working to maximise the use of the Pune Metro and Pune Mahanagar Parivahan Mahamandal Limited (PMPML) services. He noted that, along with expanding the metro network, PMPML now has the largest fleet of electric buses in the country. Fadnavis also highlighted the importance of the ring road in addressing Pune’s traffic concerns and assured that work on it will commence soon.

Speaking about the so-called “fake narrative factory” in Maharashtra and labelling Sharad Pawar as its “owner,” Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis asserted that Pawar’s claims of businesses leaving Maharashtra are false. Contrary to these statements, Fadnavis said Maharashtra receives 52% of the country’s total investments—the highest among any state. He also referred to Supriya Sule as the “director of the fake narrative factory,” dismissing her claims that 16 companies left Hinjawadi for other states. Fadnavis clarified that these companies merely expanded to tier-2 cities within Maharashtra.

“Thackeray and Pawar ‘Batting’ for Gujarat”

Fadnavis also claimed that during his tenure as Chief Minister from 2014 to 2019, Maharashtra ranked number one in investments received. However, after the Mahavikas Aghadi government came to power, Karnataka and Gujarat overtook Maharashtra. He expressed surprise at why Sharad Pawar and Uddhav Thackeray act as the “face” of the Gujarat government, saying, “Gujarat doesn’t need advertising when Sharad Pawar and Uddhav Thackeray are ‘batting’ for them.” Fadnavis urged them to take pride in Maharashtra, questioning why they cannot recognise the state’s progress.
