Pune: FDA Orders To Reserve 10% Remdesivir Injections For Frontline Workers

Pune, 21st April 2021: The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) on Tuesday (20th April) ordered to reserve 10 percent Remdesivir injections for frontline workers. The decision has been conveyed to all district collectors in the state. Therefore, frontline workers like Doctors, Police, Sanitation workers, and all those included in essential service will get the injection in time.

The city is facing the 2nd wave of Coronavirus infection. During this 2nd wave, many frontline workers are infected with the virus. The relatives of those workers are struggling to get the injection for the patients.

In a recent time, the police department had to face difficulty to avail the injection for their employees who are infected with the virus.

Pune police commissioner Amitabh Gupta discussed with FDA officials about the availability of injection, after this discussion the FDA decided to reserve its 10 percent quota of injection for frontline workers. The decision provides relief to the frontline workers who are struggling to get the injection.
