Hadapsar, 18th August 2021: It has been revealed that the migration of high voltage power lines in the Amanora township area of Hadapsar has been opposed by the societies in this area. Orders have been issued to stop the work considering the demands of the citizens.

The Vrindavan Heights Co-operative Society in the Amanora township area of Hadapsar had made a statement in this regard to the Commissioner, Chief Engineer of the Pune Municipal Corporation, and also the Chief Engineer and Executive Engineer of the Pune Division of the Maharashtra State Electricity Transmission Company.

The statement said that the relocation of high voltage power lines in the area has been approved by the municipal road department. These canals will be relocated from Magarpatta Road to Sade Satra Nali Road at pipeline road. For this, the executive engineers have permitted excavation. Some conditions were laid down when granting permission. It stipulated that a monopoly should not be erected where two roads meet.

However, work is underway to erect a monopoly in the area where the pipeline road and the planned 12-meter-wide road meet. It was also demanded that monopoly sites be changed by taking an immediate decision even if it would disrupt traffic in the area. The Pune Municipal Corporation took notice of this demand made on 5th April 2021 after three / four months and ordered to stop the work. Meanwhile, last week, residents in the area sighed as the foundation for the monopoly created by the company on Wednesday was removed by JCB.

“The demand to oppose the migration of high voltage power lines came to us at the level of some societies and individuals. We have ordered the concerned to stop the work given the demand taking place at the collective level,” said Rajendra Ardhapure, Executive Engineer, Pune Municipal Corporation.
