Koregaon Park, 20th November 2021: A waiter allegedly died by suicide by jumping from the thirteenth floor of a restaurant bar on ABC Farm Road near Koregaon Park. Before the suicide, the concerned worker used Facebook Live to accuse some people in the hotel of cheating him.

The deceased has been identified as Arvind Singh Rathore (26), a native of Uttarakhand. He had come to Pune to work a month ago at Penthouze Nightlife in the Mundhwa area and was working as a waiter there.

Around 7.30 pm on Wednesday, he jumped from the thirteenth floor of the building. A case of accidental death was initially registered at the Mundhwa police station.

According to police, he went to the terrace of the hotel and started a Facebook live in which he said that he was going to commit suicide. In it, he accused some people in the hotel of doing bad things to him and cheating him. After which he stood on the wall of the building. On seeing this, the locals tried to stop him but he jumped down within a few moments.

Upon receiving the information, the senior police inspector of Mundhwa police station Brahmanand Naikwadi rushed to the spot. At that time, Arvind was lying in a pool of blood. He was admitted to Sassoon Hospital for treatment. However, doctors said that he died before he could be treated.

After getting a complaint from his relative, now Pune city police has registered a case under section 306 (abetment of suicide) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) against the Penthouze administration. PSI Gajanan Bhosale is further investigating the case.
