Pune: Fire Broke Out In Godown At Sopan Nagar; No Casualties Reported

Vadagaonsheri, 3rd November 2022: A fire broke out in a godown located at Sopan Nagar in Vadgaonsheri on Ahmednagar Road. The Fire Brigade Department received the call regarding the incident at around 11.58 am. The preliminary information is that the said godown is scrap. Also, it is reported that there are no casualties reported in this incident.

 

Five vehicles of the fire brigade have been dispatched to the incident site. When the fire was reported, a total of 15 vehicles from the Pune and Pune Metropolitan Region Development Authority (PMRDA) fire brigade department and a private tanker of the Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) along with around eight officers and 50 personnel were helping to extinguish the fire. At present, the fire is under control and cooling work is going on.

 

 

In the said godown there were waste materials like plastic materials, iron objects, cans, pots and other materials along with some gas cylinders. At least 10-12 cylinders have exploded at this place. No one is trapped inside or injured or died in the said accident.

Also, when the owner of the godown was asked about this, he said that there are no workers inside. The cause of the fire is yet to be ascertained and it may take at least 1-2 hours to extinguish the fire completely.
