Pune: Fire Broke Out In Godown Near Wadki, No Casualties Reported In Accident

Pune, 12th November 2022: On Friday (November 11) at around 10.25 pm, a fire broke out at the godown of about ten thousand sq ft of Jindal Trading Company at Saswad Road, Wadki, Shantinagar Society. No casualties were reported in the incident nor was anyone found injured. The cause of the fire is yet to be ascertained.

 

As soon as the fire brigade reached the spot, the jawans started trying to extinguish the fire by using hose pipes. As there was a lot of fire in front of the place, some part of the back side wall was demolished with the help of JCB and wearing BA set the jawans entered the godown and checked whether any workers were trapped, but it was confirmed that no one was injured or killed.

 

It took almost an hour to get the fire under control and at around 4.00 am, the fire was completely extinguished. As the fire was huge, water was made available from a nearby well for additional use and around 20 private water tankers were used to extinguish the fire.

 

 

In the fire, footwear (shoes, boots, sandals) and some other materials of various companies were completely burnt and there was a lot of damage. The tiles, walls and ceiling of the godown have fallen.

 

At the spot, Assistant Divisional Fire Officer Ramesh Gangad, Station Duty Officer Anil Gaikwad, Pramod Sonawane and Officer-in-Charge Kailas Shinde and drivers Raju Sheikh, Deepak Kachare, Jagtap and jawans Animish Kondgekar, Baba Chavan, Pratap Phanse, Nilesh Lonkar, Kisan Narke, Ravi Bartakke carried out the operation.

 

Also, fire vehicles from Kalepadal Fire Station, Hadapsar Fire Station, Kondhwa Khurd Fire Station, BT Kavde Road Fire Station and jumbo tankers from Kondhwa Budruk and Pune Metropolitan Region Development Authority (PMRDA) were used to extinguish the fire.
