Pune: Gambling Dens Busted In Yerwada And Near Viman Nagar, 32 Persons Arrested
Yerwada, 25th February 2022: Commissioner of Police Amitabh Gupta and Joint Commissioner Ravindra Shisve had informed in a meeting two weeks ago about illegal activities and gambling going on under the jurisdiction of Yerwada Police Station.
But even after warning, it has come to light that illegal activities and gambling was still going on in the area. After getting the information, a team from the Deputy Commissioner’s office raided two places and arrested 32 people.
A team from the office of DCP (Zone 4) Rohidas Pawar on Saturday received information that gambling was going on in a locked room above carrom house of Sunny Machhare in Yerwada. When the team raided the house, a total of 19 people were caught red-handed. 7 mobiles and Rs. 14,340 in cash were seized from them. The arrested people are undergoing enquiry.
Three days ago, DCP Pawar’s team got information about a gambling spot near Mahalakshmi Lawns near Viman Nagar. Upon raiding the premises, the team found 13 men indulging in gambling.
