Pune: Gang Arrested In Kamshet For Honey Trap Assault On Youths

Kamshet, 9th March 2023: A gang has been apprehended by the Pune rural police for allegedly luring and assaulting young men through honey traps. The accused reportedly contacted their victims through a woman and threatened to file false rape cases unless they paid an extortion amount of Rs two lakh. Within 12 hours of the incident, Kamshet police arrested the accused perpetrators.

The arrested individuals include Prateek alias Laya Arjun Nilkanth (24) from Chhawa Chowk, Kamshet; Rupesh alias Kavatya Vijay Lal Gude (24); Satish Krishnakumar Bidlan (28); Rohit Ganesh Chopde (28); and Sahil Mahadev Bhise (residing in Chinchwad). A 20-year-old woman is also among the accused. The case was filed by a 24-year-old youth from Bedse, Maval.

The incident took place on March 1 at approximately 11 PM when the accused woman contacted the complainant and his friend, inviting them to meet near Shivshankar Mangal office. When the complainant and his friends arrived, the accused attacked them with belts, sticks, and iron rods. They then abducted the complainant at gunpoint and demanded Rs two lakh while threatening to file a false rape case.

The Kamshet Police station has booked the accused under relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) and are currently investigating the matter.
