Pune: Girl And Youth Dead As Speeding Bike Hits Divider In Akurdi

Pimpri Chinchwad, 18th October 2021: A youth and a young woman lost their lives after sustaining severe injuries after their speeding KTM bike collided with a road divider after hitting a two-wheeler.

 

The incident took place on Sunday afternoon in Akurdi on the old Mumbai-Pune Highway. The deceased have been identified as Aryan Narendra Parmar (21) of Bopodi and Shweta Gajbhaiye.

 

Based on a complaint from Mrunal Kulkarni of Vijaynagar in Kalewadi, an FIR has been registered against Parmar at Nigdi police station for rash and negligent driving.

 

According to police, Mrunal and her sister were riding a two-wheeler when Parmar’s bike hit them from behind opposite Rajaram Bapu Sahakari Bank in Akurdi. Parmar lost balance and the KTM bike collided with the road divider. The duo received severe injuries and died on the spot.

 

The bike’s petrol tank burst due to the impact and the bike caught fire.

 

The whole incident was captured on a CCTV camera.
