Pune: Girlfriend Died By Suicide Due To Harassment, Boyfriend Arrested
Hadapsar, 7th January 2023: The case of a girlfriend who died by suicide under a train has come to light due to her boyfriend’s harassment. The Hadapsar police arrested the boyfriend on the charge of inciting his girlfriend for suicide.
The deceased girl has been identified as Taramati Suryavanshi (34), a resident of Sayyed Nagar, Hadapsar, and a native of Parli, District Beed. Vikrant Dashrath Jagtap (38), a resident of Fauji Niwas, Patil Park, Uruli Kanchan, Solapur Road has been arrested in this case. Police sub-inspector Sushil Damre has filed a complaint at Hadapsar police station.
According to the information given by the police, Taramati and Vikrant were in a relationship since 2016. Taramati had cut off contact with her family. Vikrant was harassing her by torturing her. Due to his harassment, she died by suicide under a train in the Manjri area last year.
Initially, the police had registered the case as accidental death pending further investigation. The matter was then investigated by the police. Arvind Gokule, Senior Police Inspector of Hadapsar Police Station informed that the investigation revealed that Taramati died by suicide due to Vikrant’s troubles.
Taramati’s relatives were contacted in this case. They could not appear for filing the complaint. After that, the police registered a case in this regard and arrested Vikrant. Police sub-inspector Bhairavanath Shelke is investigating.
