Pune: Grape Festival At Shri Dagdusheth Halwai Ganapati Temple: 2,000 Kg Of Chemical-Free Grapes To Be Distributed

Pune, 14th March 2025: A grand Grape Festival was held at the Shri Dagdusheth Halwai Ganapati Temple, beautifully decorating the sanctum sanctorum along with the hall with black and green grapes. The festival was organized by the Shri Dagdusheth Halwai Public Ganapati Trust, with the support of the Nashik-based Sahyadri Farms Company. The farmers from Sahyadri Farms contributed around 2,000 kilograms of export-quality, chemical-free grapes for the decoration.
The event was attended by the Trust’s President Sunil Rasne, Vice Presidents Manik Chavan and Dr. Ramchandra (Balasaheb) Paranjpe, Treasurer Mahesh Suryavanshi, General Secretary Hemant Rasne, Festival Chief Akshay Godse, Assistant Secretary Amol Kedar, President of Suvarnayug Youth Mandal Prakash Chavan, and Vilas Shinde, Chairman and Managing Director of Sahyadri Farms, along with other officials of the Sahyadri Farms Company.
Following the festival, the grapes will be distributed as prasad to devotees, orphanages, senior citizen homes, and Sassoon Hospital. Devotees flocked to the temple from early morning to witness the elaborate grape decoration adorning the entire assembly hall.
The temple has seen these kinds of decorations for years, as it has become a seasonal tradition in recent times.
Sahyadri Farms, which is India’s largest exporter of grapes, now collaborates with over 22,000 farmers. The company is also known for producing new patented varieties of grapes.
Speaking on the occasion, Sunil Rasne emphasized the health benefits of grapes as per ancient Indian Ayurveda. Grapes play a significant role in reducing the risk of heart disease. Their consumption helps slow down the aging process of the brain. The fibers in grapes aid in smoother bowel movements, while also addressing blood deficiencies by increasing hemoglobin levels. Green grapes, in particular, are known to boost hemoglobin.
“Due to these health benefits, grapes will be distributed as prasad to orphanages, old-age homes, and Sassoon Hospital,” he added further.
