Pune: “He Should Die the Way He Killed the Child,” Say Nasrapur Accused’s Wife and Son
Pune, 5th May 2026: The family of Nasrapur rape and murder case accused has strongly condemned the incident. The wife of 65-yaer-old accused expressed deep anger and distanced herself from her husband, stating they had had no contact with him for the past 10 years.
“I don’t even want to see his face. He should be stoned to death at the exact same spot where he killed that baby. Not just hanged — he should be stoned and even burnt alive. Even then, the fire in my heart will not be quenched,” she said.
She added that no one should inform her about his last rites. “He has no connection with us for the last 10 years. He deserves the strictest punishment,” the woman said, lamenting that his actions had brought shame to the family name.
The accused’s son was equally vocal in his condemnation. “I feel ashamed to even call him my father. What he did to that little girl is inhuman. He should be given the harshest punishment,” he said.
Describing the victim as someone he felt as close as his own niece, the son said he has 11 nephews and nieces and was deeply disturbed by the incident. “This has caused us immense mental trauma. We live in Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj’s Maharashtra. The justice system must act in a way that restores people’s faith,” he added.
The incident triggered widespread outrage across Maharashtra, after a 65-year-old man allegedly raped and murdered a 3-year-old girl in Nasrapur village of Bhor taluka near Pune last Friday.
The accused allegedly followed the toddler, raped her, and then bludgeoned her to death with a stone. To conceal the crime, he hid her body under a pile of cow dung. The child’s family and villagers launched a search and discovered the body, leading to immediate protests and police intervention.
