Pune: Humorous Poet Banda Joshi Awarded At Ramai Mahotsav By Adkar Foundation

Pune, 7th February 2024: At the recent Ramai Festival event in Pune, Adkar Foundation honored the renowned humorous poet Banda Joshi for his significant literary contributions toward his art of bringing smiles on people’s face through humour.

This recognition was presented by Dr. N. M. Joshi, a distinguished educator who also graced the occasion as the Guest of Honour. Organized by the Adkar Foundation, the event took place at the Mahamata Ramai Bhimrao Ambedkar National Memorial near Wadia College in Pune.

During the event, Dr. Joshi, a prominent figure in education, emphasized the importance of genuine artistry Banda Joshi in bringing smiles to people’s faces despite life’s challenges. The festival commemorated the 127th birth anniversary of Mahamata Ramai Bhimrao Ambedkar and was organized by the Mahamata Ramai Bhimrao Ambedkar National Memorial Committee.

Pramod Adkar, known for his support of the Marathi literary community in Pune, provided an introduction to the ceremony. Following the felicitation, Banda Joshi shared his thoughts with the audience, expressing his gratitude for the honor and pledging to continue spreading laughter in people’s lives. His renowned solo performance, ‘Hasya Panchami,’ was a highlight of the event.

Guest speaker Ramesh Bagwe highlighted the significance of such festivals in acquainting the public with the ideologies of great personalities, contributing to societal advancement. Lata Rajguru extended a warm welcome to the event’s guests, while Sachin Itkar, the executive president of the committee and a notable figure in Pune’s cultural scene, delivered the vote of thanks.
