Pune: IAS Officer Prajit Nair Appointed Additional Commissioner of PMC
Pune, 2nd April 2026 : The Maharashtra government has appointed IAS officer Prajit Nair as the additional municipal commissioner of the Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC).
Nair, who was serving as the Gondia district collector, succeeds Prithviraj B. P., who has been transferred to the Vasai-Virar Municipal Corporation as its municipal commissioner.
Belonging to the 2017 IAS batch, Nair is a former student of Jawaharlal Nehru University, New Delhi. Over the course of his career, he has held key administrative roles, including chief executive officer of the Sindhudurg Zilla Parishad and sub-divisional officer at Jawhar in Palghar district.
