Pune: Increase In Sale Of Electric Vehicles In Pimpri Chinchwad

Pimpri, 21st October 2021: Due to a consistent increase in fuel prices, citizens are now opting for electric vehicles instead of petrol and diesel vehicles.

From April to September 2021, 1,634 electric vehicles have been registered at the Pimpri-Chinchwad Sub-Regional Transport Office. Meanwhile, 37,998 vehicles running on petrol and diesel have been registered.

During the lockdown phase from 2020 to mid-2021, the automobile industry faced heavy losses in terms of sales of vehicles. During the period April to September 2019, 72,656 vehicles were registered.

In the same period in 2020, this number reached 25,341 vehicles.
As the corona outbreak decreased to some extent, the government started the process of unlocking, and production began to return to normal. Even though there is still a possibility of a third wave, the matters have not fully recovered.

Compared to the previous year, there is still a slight improvement though. 37,998 vehicles were registered during the period from April to September 2021 this year.

Meanwhile, Petrol, diesel crossed the hundred mark. With the onset of covid-19, which gave a huge financial blow to the citizens, citizens are now turning their attention to electric vehicles. 1,634 electric vehicles have been registered during the period April to September 2021. It has the highest number of electric two-wheelers. In six months, 1,490 two-wheelers, 101 cars, 29 three-wheelers, and 14 other vehicles were registered.

No school bus has been registered in a year and a half

From April 2019 to March 2020, 26 school buses were b registered. Since then, no school bus has been registered in the period of one and a half years from April 2020 to September 2021.

Record registration of vehicles on Vijaya Dashami Dussehra

From October 1 to 15, 4,985 vehicles have been registered at the Pimpri-Chinchwad Sub-Regional Transport Office. This includes 2,749 two-wheelers, 1,762 cars, jeeps, and 474 other vehicles.
