Pune, 6th December 2022: The cold has almost completely disappeared as the minimum night temperature has increased significantly compared to the average in Pune and surrounding areas in December. Similarly, as the maximum temperature of the day has also increased, the scorching sun rays have also intensified. According to the forecast by the Pune Observatory, the increase in temperature is likely to continue for another week.

In November too, the temperature fluctuated to a large extent. However, after the fortnight of November, the city experienced an intense winter cold. Between November 20 and 22, Pune recorded the lowest temperature of this season and the last five years with the temperature dropping to eight-nine degrees Celsius. Pune residents felt the cold this week. However, after that, a low-pressure area continuously developed in the Bay of Bengal and the Arabian Sea. Due to this, there was rain in the southern areas of the country. As a result of this, the temperature in all parts of Maharashtra and Pune city started to increase continuously. For the last two to three days, the temperature has started rising rapidly again.

In mid-November, the temperature dropped by six-seven degrees compared to the average due to severe cold. The day temperature was also below 30 degrees. Therefore, it was cold at night and dewy during the day. However, the situation has completely changed now. The minimum temperature in Pune on Monday night reached 18.5 degrees, with an increase of 5.9 degrees compared to the average. So the cold had disappeared at night. The maximum day temperature also increased by 2.5 degrees compared to the average. Hence 32.2 degree maximum temperature was recorded.

A low-pressure area is currently forming in the Bay of Bengal. Its intensity is likely to increase. This low-pressure area will move towards the northwest direction. As a result, rains have started in Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh and adjoining areas. Heavy rain is likely in these areas in the next two-three days. All these are currently affecting Maharashtra, and the temperature is increasing. At present, the night and day temperatures in all parts of Maharashtra have increased significantly compared to the average. So the cold has disappeared. The minimum temperature in Madhya Maharashtra has increased by four-nine degrees compared to the average. The minimum temperature increased by four-six degrees in Marathwada, one-three degrees in Vidarbha, and one-three degrees in Konkan.
