Pune: Industry 5.0 will be the major part of our approach, which will help achieve sustainable goals – Dr Pramod Chaudhari

Pune, 18th December 2021: “We have been tracing the industry growth and have leapt from Industry 1.0 to 4.0. We are now heading toward Industry 5.0, which will be the major part of our approach as it will help us achieve sustainable goals and mitigate the threat of Climate Change. We have to integrate the actions and targets to fight Climate Change in our education system,” said Dr Pramod Chaudhari, Founder and Executive Chairman, Praj Industries, India.

He was speaking during the 4th International Conference on Innovation in Engineering, Design and Holistic Education organized by IEEE Pune Section in association with MIT School of Engineering along with MIT School of Education & Research at MIT Art, Design and Technology University at R.K. Memorial Hall today.

Members of IEEE PuneCon 2021 including Dr Reena Pagare, Dr Rekha Sughandi, Dr Rajneeshkaur Sachdeo, Dr Rajesh Ingle, Girish Khilari – Chair IEEE Pune Section, Dr K. J. Ray Liu, Dr Kishore Ravande, Principal, MIT School of Engineering, Dr Bhushan Kelkar of Nueflex Talent, Dina Kholkar of TCS, Dr Ravindra Utgikar of Praj Industries and Prof. Dr Sunita Karad, Director of Information Communication Technology at MIT were present during the event.

“We are promoting Bio-Economy, which will be a part of Industry 5.0 V2. Through this humans and collaborative robots will work together and resolve the issues to meet our energy requirements. The blending of Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning and biotechnology will help grow bio-economy,” Chaudhari said.

He also added that Digitization has spread around the world and has streamlined communication and networking and all technologies including the Internet of Things, Automation and Social Media have been working together to deliver results.

“But with all of that, the subject of humanity and human beings should be a part of our holistic education system and we have to inculcate values, public governance and discipline in all sectors,” he said.

Girish Khilari presented various technical activities that IEEE Pune Section conducts throughout the year. He also explained that the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) is the world’s largest technical professional organization dedicated to advancing technology for the benefit of humanity. He appealed to all present to leverage their IEEE Membership and be part of the vibrancy that section brings in creating new leaders, developing careers and creating global networking opportunities for its members through such international conferences.

Dr Sunita Karad said, “We have the opportunities to create innovations in all subjects and technology and data learning will be the keys, which will enable us to achieve our target. We also have to focus on the innovation in Agri-economy as 70% of the income is generated from agriculture. We are working towards creating more Agriculture and Bio-Fuel Engineers.”
