Pune, 15th October 2022: Due to the heavy rain in Pune, the work of the Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) has been disrupted. Guardian Minister of Pune Chandrakant Patil, who is on his Pune Tour said that as this happens frequently, the work of the municipal corporation will be investigated.

As soon as it started raining heavily in the city, within a few minutes, Jangali Maharaj Road, Fergusson Road and other areas were submerged with water. This is exposing the falsehood of the Municipal Corporation which claimed that the sewers have been cleaned during the rainy season and have sufficient capacity to carry water. Due to the rain on Friday (October 14), once again the work of the Municipal Corporation was disrupted.

When Chandrakant Patil was asked in this regard, he said, “We do not know the maths of rain this year, it is raining a lot in a short time. Complaints of the citizens will be understood as the water is overflowing. More rain fell in a short time yesterday than the sewers could carry. But an inquiry will be made as to why the water accumulates on the roads frequently.”

He further said, “The district has also suffered damage due to rain, hence, we will talk to the district collector regarding the same. The Chief Minister has instructed all District Collectors to review the damage caused due to rain.”

He also stated that an inquiry is being conducted by the Education Department in the case of the TET examination scam. “It is necessary to take strict action against the candidates involved in malpractices, action will be taken by the government,” Patil said.

There are cases of sextortion increasing in Pune which is a new form of crime. Young women and men are getting trapped in a set where the accused asked them for obscene photos, and videos and then blackmails them. Due to this, two people have died by suicide in Pune. Regarding this, Patil said, he will review the sextortion cases as the guardian minister.

It is said that some people in the government are upset. But the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and the Shinde group have a system to convince the disgruntled. “On the occasion of Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsava, the state will recruit 75,000 posts, various departments have been asked for details of their vacancies,” said Patil.
