Pune: Iron Girder Falls at Royal Palms Koregaon Park During Holi Celebration, 4 Hospitalised

Koregaon Park, 3rd March 2026: At least 15 to 16 young men and women were injured after an iron lighting girder collapsed during a Holi celebration programme today at Royal Palms on Koregaon Park–Mundhwa Road.
The incident occurred during the “Color Culture” event organised on the occasion of Holi. According to police, a horizontal iron beam installed as part of the stage lighting structure suddenly gave way, injuring several attendees present near the stage area.
DCP Rajkumar Shinde said, “Four of the injured were admitted to Sassoon General Hospital for treatment, while others sustained minor injuries. No one was seriously hurt in the incident.”
Senior Police Inspector Smita Wasnik of Mundhwa Police Station said police teams reached the spot immediately after receiving information. “We are present at the scene. The situation is peaceful and under control,” she said.
Further inquiry into the exact cause of the collapse is underway.
