Pune: Kasba Assembly Constituency Faces Multiple Civic Issues, BJP Demands Urgent Resolution
Pune, 18th July 2023: A range of unresolved problems, including water supply and deteriorating footpaths, continue to plague the Kasba Assembly Constituency. Hemant Rasane, the former chairman of the Standing Committee, voiced his concerns to the Municipal Commissioner on Monday, highlighting the lack of parking space and the need for toilet repairs. He presented a comprehensive ward-wise list of issues to the Commissioner and Administrator Vikram Kumar, urging immediate action to address these civic problems.
In an ongoing effort by the BJP, citizens are being contacted to gather information about the challenges faced in the Kasba Assembly Constituency. Over the past four months, Hemant Rasane has been actively engaged in this process, leading to his meeting with Commissioner Vikram Kumar on Monday. During the meeting, he emphasized the persisting concerns. The water supply issue remains a critical problem across all wards of the Kasba Assembly Constituency, with citizens experiencing inadequate, low-pressure, and irregular water supply. Furthermore, due to ongoing development projects, roads in the area are in a dilapidated state, requiring repairs, pothole filling, and asphalt resurfacing.
Parking has become a major challenge for residents in the Kasba Assembly Constituency, with insufficient parking signs and unclear demarcation of parking lanes. Encroachments on footpaths have become rampant, leading to their poor condition. Additionally, zebra crossing markings at intersections have faded, posing a safety risk. The cleaning of sewage channels and rain drains has been neglected. Public toilets in slum areas and older structures are in a deteriorated state, with irregular cleaning. Dangerous tree growth has not been addressed through pruning, and street lights are malfunctioning. Rasane also brought to the Commissioner’s attention the non-operational CCTV system.
The citizens of the Kasba Assembly Constituency anxiously await prompt action to resolve these pressing issues.
