Pune, 29th June 2026: A court in Vadgaon Maval on Monday extended the police custody of Siya Goyal and Chetan Chaudhary till July 3 after the two were produced before it on the expiry of their earlier remand in connection with the alleged murder of 26-year-old businessman Ketan Agarwal.

The prosecution sought further custodial interrogation, submitting that the investigation was at a crucial stage and several aspects of the alleged conspiracy were yet to be examined. The court remanded both accused to police custody till July 3.

According to Pune Rural Police, Goyal allegedly gave Chaudhary a pre-arranged signal moments before Agarwal was pushed into a gorge at Lohagad Fort on June 18. Investigators claimed Goyal sat down to ensure she remained out of Agarwal’s reach, preventing him from grabbing her as he fell.

On Sunday, investigators took Goyal to Lohagad Fort to recreate the crime scene. Police have also seized a scooter allegedly used by Chaudhary to travel nearly 100 km from Pune to the fort, suspecting it was chosen to avoid toll plazas.

Agarwal and Goyal got engaged in February and were to marry later this year. During the investigation, officers allegedly found that Goyal and Chaudhary had been in a relationship for several months and considered Agarwal an obstacle to their future together.
