Kharadi, 16th January 2024: Residents in Kharadi are facing persistent challenges due to the unresolved road construction issues along the D P Farms route, connecting to EON IT Park and various other thoroughfares in the area.

Expressing his concerns, Kharadi resident Akhil Agarwal stated, “Throughout the entire stretch in Kharadi, the Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) seems to be primarily engaged in digging up roads. This has been ongoing for more than a year, with no discernible progress or follow-up actions. The pace of the work is alarmingly slow, resulting in chaotic traffic and potential safety hazards. The conversion of two-way roads into one-way stretches due to ongoing digging further exacerbates the situation. The dug-up roads are left unattended, creating an issue that is pervasive across the entirety of Kharadi.”

Additional insights from the Twitter account GQT_CHS reveal, “No progress has been observed after the construction of the cement road on the right lane. This pertains to the DP Farms road, a crucial route leading to EON IT Park in Kharadi and most other roads in the area. Pedestrians are compelled to navigate through accumulated water, debris, and more. We urge authorities to communicate a target completion date for this work.”

Deepak Patil, Chairman of the Kharadi Housing Welfare Association, expressed frustration, stating, “It’s been three to four months since the roads were initially dug up, and the work remains incomplete. Only two residential societies have witnessed progress on the DP Farms and EON IT Park stretch. The rest of the stretch remains in limbo, causing inconvenience to city buses, four-wheelers, and pedestrians alike. The current one-way configurations, resulting from the untouched dug-up roads, leave pedestrians with limited walking options. They are compelled to traverse these dug-up roads with accumulated rainwater, stones, and debris, which authorities have failed to address. The nature of PMC’s efforts in this regard remains unclear.”
