Pune: Koyta Gang Attacks Three Individuals In Timber Market
Pune, 9th August 2023: Renowned for its bustling streets, was gripped by a disconcerting incident as the notorious Koyta Gang targeted three individuals within the timber market precinct of Bhawani Peth, Pune. This audacious attack has prompted swift action, with authorities registering a case against a group of ten individuals at the Khadak police station.
The individuals facing charges have been identified as Karan Aglave (22), Rahul Shendge (22), Rohan Shendge (21), Abhishek Sasane (33), Mahesh Aglave (20), Swastik Khawle (22), Rohit Thorat (24), Laxman Jadhav (23), Shankar Kongadi (24), and Rohit Agalave.
Sultan Chand Sheikh (27), a resident of Lohianagar, has emerged as the gravely injured victim in this alarming incident.
Initial investigations suggest that Sultan Shaikh and his companions were engaged in a casual conversation within the timber market locale. During this interaction, Karan Aglave and his associates arrived on the scene. Karan confronted Sultan, inquiring about an alleged assault on Rohit Aglave. In an appalling turn of events, a Koyta – a weapon notorious for its malevolent intent – was wielded, resulting in Sultan being stabbed. Alish Shaikh, a friend of Akbar who was in Sultan’s company, also fell victim to the assailants’ aggression, plunging the area into chaos and trepidation.
Police sub-inspector Vite is investigating the case.
