Pune, 20th June 2023: In a renewed wave of terror, the notorious Koyta gang has returned to Pune, wreaking havoc in the Sahakarnagar police station jurisdiction. The group of six individuals, with their faces concealed, descended upon the Vanashiv Vasti area in Taljai during the early hours of the morning, leaving a trail of destruction in their wake. Approximately 40 vehicles parked along the roadside fell victim to their rampage.

The incident unfolded around 3:30 in the morning sending shockwaves through the entire Vanshiv Vasti locality. Originally thought to be searching for a specific person, the gang’s unsuccessful quest quickly turned into an assault on parked cars, motorbikes, and rickshaws. Armed with an assortment of tools, including iron rods and sticks, the vandals brazenly defaced the vehicles. Their menacing shouts further added to the residents’ fear and panic.

With the gang members brandishing deadly weapons, onlookers remained paralyzed, hesitant to intervene. To compound matters, the group even launched stones at a nearby house, heightening tensions in the area. The aftermath revealed a significant toll, with approximately 10 to 15 rickshaws, 25 two-wheelers, and several cars severely damaged.

Sahakar Nagar Police Station has registered a case regarding the incident. The gang responsible for the vandalism has been identified, and efforts are underway to trace and apprehend them.
