Pune: Landowners Block DP Road In Hadapsar Over Delayed TDR From PMC
Hadapsar, March 30th, 2023: Landowners in Hadapsar have blocked the DP road leading to Kalepadal by putting up steel patras due to the Pune Municipal Corporation’s failure to carry out the Transfer of Development Rights (TDR) for the past few years. The Municipal Corporation’s negligence has caused inconvenience to thousands of citizens in the area.
The DP road passes through Handewadi Road, Mahatma Phule Chowk, JSPM College, and Kumar Cable Park Society in Survey No 54 of Hadapsar. Despite following up for four years with the Municipal Corporation, the landowners have not received TDR for their acquired land, which has led to the present situation.
Landowners Yogesh Ghule and Vishwas Bhapkar said that the Municipal Corporation had acquired their land for the DP road and developed an 18-meter road from there, but they have not yet received the TDR as compensation. As a result, they had to close the road, causing inconvenience to citizens. The landowners stated that they are unable to contact Additional Commissioner Vikas Dhakane regarding this issue.
Former corporator Vijaya Wadkar said that the situation could have been avoided if the Municipal Corporation had given the TDR to the landowners. She further added that the current situation is causing a lot of suffering to students, workers, and other passengers, and this issue needs to be resolved soon to avoid agitation.
The inconvenience caused to passengers due to the road closure has been reported, and the Municipal Corporation has been urged to resolve the issue at the earliest.
