Four to five large rocks came down from the hills, and two of them were in the middle of the road. However, no accidents occurred during this. But, the traffic was disrupted for some time. Heavy rains in the area for the last five to six days led to an increase in such incidents.

Deven More, Junior Engineer, Public Works Department, inspected the landslide-prone area and said, “Some more large rocks have been unearthed at the site of the landslide, and must be removed. Otherwise, there are chances of landslides at night again.”

“After such incidents in the area, the Pune Municipal Corporation’s (PMC) Disaster Management Squad and Public Works Department go to the spot and remove the obstruction to ease the traffic. But, the forest department does not even take a look. Moreover, preventive measures are not taken after inspecting the landslide-prone areas. Are they waiting for the death of an innocent driver in an accident?” said Swapnil Kashid, a resident.
