Pune: Precautions To Take In Flood Situation; PMC Issues Guidelines

Pune, 13th July 2022: Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) has issued guidelines for people who live near rivers and big nullahs. The guidelines state that there is a possibility of flooding due to heavy rains in the city and people have asked to follow the guidelines.

Citizens living near the river and nullahs are advised to transfer by themselves. Citizens are advised not to go near river basins especially with kids. There is a possibility of landslides or rock falling near the mountain areas. It is advised to not construct any building in such areas. If there is any sort of construction, the administration has ordered the construction be removed.

It is also advised to keep a safe distance from the electric wire. The administration always provides medical help to the affected areas. For this, the administration has asked for help from the people from these areas.

The administration has also advised locals to take help from the local Ward Office, fire brigade or flood control room if they need any help. Citizens should walk cautiously and drive safely if the rainwater is submerged on the road as there are chances of the opening of the drainage chamber’s lid.

It is also advised to follow all the instructions and orders given by the Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) and various departments of the government. It is advised to call the Fire brigade (101) if there are chances of falling off any old building.

Due to heavy rains in Pune city, the excess water starts to be stored in the concerned society, in this situation, it is necessary to pump out the water at the society level. If necessary then only leave the house and avoid going to the flood-like areas.
