Pune: License Mandatory To Keep Cats, PCMC Takes Decision; Action Will Be Taken If License Is Not Available

Pimpri-Chinchwad, 10th November 2022: After the dog license, the Pimpri-Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (PCMC) has now made it mandatory for city residents to get a license to keep cats. There will be a fee of Rs 75 for a new license and Rs 50 for renewal. The Municipal Corporation has also warned of taking action if a cat is kept without a license.

 

This decision was taken in an administrative meeting chaired by Municipal Commissioner Shekhar Singh. For the citizens of Pimpri-Chinchwad city, the municipality had fixed a fee of Rs 75 for keeping a dog and Rs 50 for renewal of the license.

 

 

This license is issued online by the Veterinary Department. In the same way, a license has been made necessary for keeping a cat and for that, the same fee will be charged as for a dog license.

 

The term of this license will be one year. It has to be renewed every year. Rabies vaccination is mandatory for cats. The licensee must take care that the cat does not disturb others. The commissioner has made it clear that the municipality reserves the right to cancel the license in case of cleanliness or if other complaints are recieved aboutp the cat.
