Lohgaon, 23rd June 2026: The Maharashtra government has granted revised administrative approval of ₹55.91 crore for the construction of the 100-bed Sub-District Hospital and residential quarters at Lohgaon in Haveli taluka of Pune district. The move is expected to accelerate the long-pending project and strengthen healthcare infrastructure in the rapidly growing eastern suburbs of Pune.

Earlier, administrative approval had been granted for the hospital’s main building at ₹16.14 crore and residential quarters at ₹15.73 crore. However, due to rising construction costs, revised estimates and updated plans were prepared by the Public Works Department and submitted to the state government for approval.

Accordingly, on March 4, 2026, the government accorded revised administrative approval of ₹55,91,90,034 for the project. The approved amount includes expenditure for non-residential and residential buildings, electrical installations, and water supply infrastructure.

The project had originally received administrative approval for ₹31.88 crore. With the revised approval, the project cost has increased to ₹55.91 crore.

In addition, the state government has made a provision of ₹30 crore for the hospital in the supplementary demands presented for the financial year 2026-27. The allocation is expected to provide the financial support required to expedite pending construction work and ensure timely completion of the project.

Once fully operational, the 100-bed hospital will provide modern and quality healthcare services to residents of Lohgaon, Wagholi, and surrounding areas, which have witnessed significant population growth in recent years.

Welcoming the decision, MLA Bapusaheb Pathare said, “Considering the rapidly increasing population in Lohgaon and nearby areas, establishing robust healthcare infrastructure is the need of the hour. The revised administrative approval and the allocation of ₹30 crore for the 100-bed Sub-District Hospital are extremely significant. This funding will help speed up construction and ensure the project is completed at the earliest. I will continue to follow up with the government to ensure that citizens receive quality healthcare services.”
