Pune: Major General Harpal Singh Discusses Modernization Initiatives and Infrastructure Development With PCDA Dr Rajeev Chavan

Pune, 2nd June 2023: In a meeting held at the Office of the CE (MES) HQ Southern Command in Pune, Major General Harpal Singh, CE, HQ Southern Command, Pune, and Dr. Rajeev S Chavan, IDAS, ndc, PCDA (SC) Pune, deliberated upon several important issues, including e-FDR, GeM Portal, and IFA System in MES. The meeting aimed to address these matters in detail and reach decisions that would drive progress in the region. Shri Sanjay Singh, IDSE, Director, Jt. DG (Contracts), HQ Southern Command Pune, and Shri Swapnil Hanmane, IDAS, Sr. Asst. Controller, PCDA (SC) Pune, were also present during the discussions.

During the meeting, Major General Harpal Singh emphasized the implementation of e-FDR software application as a means to enhance transparency, probity, and promptness in payment processes, while also addressing grievances associated with them. This move aims to streamline financial transactions and ensure a more efficient system for the benefit of all stakeholders. Additionally, the Major General advocated for the adoption of GeM (Government e-Marketplace) Procurements for the procurement of stores and services, aligning with the government’s directives in this regard.

In response to concerns about security and the accommodation situation at the Wanowrie DAD Complex, which houses over 600 DAD (Defence Accounts Department) Quarters, Major General Harpal Singh assured the attendees that the broken boundary wall of the complex would be reconstructed. This measure aims to address frequent theft incidents, ensuring the safety and security of the residents while providing them with decent accommodation.
