Pune, 10th June 2023: Additional Sessions Judge S.B. Salunkhe recently granted anticipatory bail to a 21-year-old man, identified as Ayush Amrit Kanse. He was held by police for allegedly creating a fake social media account in the name of renowned Lavani dancer Gautami Patil and circulating objectionable audio video clips on social media. The court ruling came after Ayush Kanse applied for anticipatory bail through his advocate, Akash Sudhir Chavan.

The incident unfolded when objectionable audio and video contents were found being circulated on social media through a fraudulent account. On February 25, a case was registered at the airport police station, leading to the arrest of one person, with two minors also being named as co-accused in the case.

Ayush Amrit Kanse, a resident of Bharatgaonwadi in the Satara district, has been accused of opening a fake social media account and using it to circulate objectionable audio clips related to Gautami Patil. Adv. Akash Sudhir Chavan argued that during the proceedings, the family of the applicant accused has given his mobile set to the police for investigation. Therefore, there is no need for police custody of the accused. Judge S.B. Salunkhe accepted the arguments of the defence and granted pre-arrest bail to Ayush Kanse.
