Pune, 10th June 2023: In a significant development, Pune Additional Divisional Commissioner Dr. Anil Ramod, IAS, has been remanded in CBI custody till June 13. This order was passed by the special judge of the CBI court, AS Waghmare.

The CBI investigation has uncovered startling evidence, including the seizure of a staggering amount of Rs 6 crore 64 lakh in cash from both his residence and office premises. Furthermore, a sealed iPhone was discovered in his office and has been seized as part of the ongoing investigation.

According to the CBI, the recorded conversation between the complainant and the accused has shed light on the clear involvement of Dr. Anil Ramod in the acceptance of illicit funds. In an attempt to gather more evidence, the authorities now seek to obtain a voice sample from the accused. However, Dr. Ramod has been uncooperative with the inquiry, providing random and evasive answers.

Given the seriousness of the charges and the need for further investigation, public prosecutor Abhay Arikar requested 5 days of CBI custody. The court, recognizing the significance of the case, has granted three days of custody for the accused.

Additional Superintendent of CBI, IB Pendhari, presented Dr. Anil Ramod before the court proceedings.
