Khadki, 17th April 2025: A 43-year-old employee of the Khadki Ammunition Factory has been arrested for allegedly stealing 22 bullets from the facility and planting them in his brother-in-law’s two-wheeler in an attempt to falsely implicate him in a crime.

The accused, identified as Ravindra Ramesh Gore, reportedly stole the cartridges and planted them in the vehicle of Ganesh Vasantrao Borude (39), a resident of Kalpataru Society on Kharadi Road in Chandan Nagar. Both men are employed at the same ammunition factory.

The case came to light after Jayendra Kasturi, a junior engineer at the factory, lodged a complaint at Khadki Police Station.

According to police, a long-standing family dispute between Gore and Borude escalated, prompting Gore to devise a revenge plot. He allegedly smuggled the bullets out of the factory by concealing them in his shoes and later hid them in Borude’s two-wheeler.

After tipping off authorities anonymously about the planted ammunition, Gore hoped to frame Borude. Although Borude was initially stopped and questioned, investigators found no immediate evidence linking him to the theft.

Subsequent forensic and technical investigations led officials back to Gore, who later confessed to orchestrating the act out of personal animosity. He has since been arrested, and further legal action is being pursued.

Police said the case raises serious concerns about internal security at the ammunition factory and have assured that protocols are being reviewed.
