Pune: Marvels, Cheetahs, Gunners, Allstar in final
Pune, 25 janauary 2023: Niragas Knights, Matric Marvels, Constellation Cheetahs, GNS Gunners, Success Strikers and Aditya Allstars booked a berth in the finals of their respective age-group sections in the fifth edition of the City Premier League (CPL) Intra-Club 7-A-Side football tournament at the City Sports Arena, Moshi.
The tournament organized by City FC Pune on behalf of Sports Foundation Pune saw Success Strikers remain unbeaten in the Under-13 section and set up a date with Aditya Allstars.
On Day-4 of the competition, Success Strikers and Jyoti Jaguars played out a 1-1 draw. Jyoti Jaguars took the lead through Ansh Girme (4th), while Mohnish Amode (8th) helped Strikers share a point. Later, in another encounter, Strikers pushed aside Diamond Daggers 3-0. Soham Chaudhari (15th, 22nd) led the way while Mohnish Amode (3th) added to the tally by scoring the first goal.
Finalists Aditya Allstars had a mixed day as they lost to Diamond Daggers 0-1, beat Jyoti Jaguars 1-0 and drew their third encounter against Success Strikers.
In the Under-9 section, Niragas Knights and Matric Marvels will play the finals, while the Under 11 battle will be between Constellation Cheetahs and GNS Gunners.
