Pune: Mathadi Union Leader Arrested For Demanding Rs 40,000 Per Month For ‘Labour Contract’

Bibvewadi, 27th July 2022: The officials from Bibvewadi police station have arrested a man who allegedly demanded extortion of Rs 40,000 per month in return for a labour contract taken by the company owner.

The arrested person has been identified as Omkar Ramesh Hinge (23), a resident of Bibvewadi. He collected extortion saying that he is the president of Swarajya Shiledar Mathadi Sangathana. Prakash Ijagaj (28) of Dhayari has lodged a complaint against him at Bibvewadi Police Station.

According to police, Prakash is a labour contractor and accused Omkar called him on July 26. He demanded Rs 40,000 per month if his workers are not employed in the company. Prakash agreed to pay Rs 30,000 after a compromise and complained to the police. In this case, the Bibwewadi police laid a trap and caught the accused Omkar red-handed.

Assistant Police Inspector Rajkumar Barde is further investigating the case.
