Pune 25th Sept 2023: The Pune City Police have booked president of Samasta Hindu Aghadi organisation Milind Ekbote and three others for allegedly delivering provocative speeches during a rally organised in the city in the first week of September. It is alleged that the rally was organised without permission from local police and the organisers delivered hateful speeches that could lead to clashes between two communities.

The other three accused booked in the case include Kunal Someshwar Kamble, president of Punyeshwar Punarnirman Samiti, Kiran Chandrakant Shinde and Vishal Dilip Pawar. The police have also booked other unidentified workers who participated in the rally. Earlier several activists from the city had submitted a complaint to the city police against Ekbote and others demanding action in the matter.

The Shivajinagar Police have booked the accused under sections 141, 142, 143, 153, 109 and 188 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC). The police have claimed that the case was registered after a detailed report based on primary information was submitted by the concerned officials of the city police.

It may be noted a rally was organised in the city on September 4 against the alleged encroachment by a religious place. The rally was also attended by BJP MLAs Nitish Rane and Mahesh Landage where they delivered objectionable statements against the municipal corporation officials for allegedly not taking action against the alleged encroachment.
