Pune: Minor’s Aurangzeb Status Post Sparks Vandalism at Worship Place, FIR Registered
Velhe, 3rd March 2025: An angry mob vandalized a worship place in Sakhar, Rajgad taluka, following a viral social media status supporting Aurangzeb. Pune Rural Superintendent of Police Pankaj Deshmukh visited the area, assessed the situation, and assured strict action against those responsible.
According to police sources, the individual who posted the status is a minor originally from Sakhar but has been living in Pune for the past two years. His father informed authorities that he is mentally ill.
As the post spread on social media, a large number of youths from the surrounding areas gathered in Sakhar. After a provocative speech, some individuals vandalized a place of worship, escalating tensions.
Velhe police have launched an investigation and assured that appropriate legal action will be taken. Authorities managed to pacify the crowd, restoring peace in the village. The situation remains under control.
