Prayagraj, 2nd March 2025: The mesmerizing beauty of Sangam will be preserved even after the conclusion of Maha Kumbh. All the necessary arrangements are being made on the banks of Triveni to ensure that it remains well-maintained for years to come. The proposal of Prayagraj Mela Authority for this purpose has already been approved by the state government.
One of the most significant initiatives is the community kitchen, which will be operational throughout the year, serving meals to 10,000 people daily. Apart from this, Sangam police station will remain functional with one CO, two inspectors, five sub-inspectors, and 25 constables will be deployed there. Additionally, one SDM will also be deployed.
750 Cameras for Continuous Surveillance
Water police staff will also be stationed on the Sangam coast. The Sangam area will continue to be under strict security surveillance, with 750 CCTV cameras remaining in place. Arrangements for about 400 changing rooms and 40 mobile toilets will remain functional. To maintain the beauty of Sangam, 300 cleaners will be deployed for daily cleaning of the ghat along with the floating jetty.
Many shops will be opened
About 400 pilgrim priests will receive well-built platforms, and vendors who sell puja materials will get better carts. Naibada will be built separately and flower stalls will be attractive. To make Sangam a plastic-free zone, 11-10 stalls will be set up for selling leaf plates, dona and kulhad shops will also be opened.
Two thousand LED lights will be installed
The most important highlight is that 2,000 LED lights will be installed for lighting at night, which will be removed only in case of flooding and will be reinstalled immediately after the flood. Although an interlocking road has been constructed for traffic till Sangam, , a chequered plate road will also remain in place for further
convenience.
Special arrangements will be made for security
Special security arrangements have been made in the Akshayavat Corridor and Hanuman Temple Corridor. In addition to this, boat fare will also be regulated, and devotees will be able to travel by speed boat.
Devotees will get facilities for years
Mahakumbh Mela Officer Vijay Kiran Anand said that devotees will be able to access necessary facilities throughout the year on the banks of the holy Triveni. Special arrangements are being made at Sangam even after Mahakumbh. The arrangements for electricity, water, roads along with changing rooms and toilets will continue to be available.
