Pune, 25th June 2023: The ambitious Pune-Miraj Doubling Project, spanning a distance of 280 kilometers, is making significant headway. With a total estimated cost of 4,819 crore rupees, the project aims to enhance railway infrastructure and improve connectivity in the region.

Under Phase A of the project, track doubling has been successfully completed for a stretch of 155 kilometers. This includes the Pune-Shindawane, Ambale-Valha, Lonand-Adarki, Satara-Koregaon, and Shenoli-Nandre sections. These newly doubled tracks have been commissioned and are ready for operations, enabling smoother train movements.

Simultaneously, Phase B is underway, encompassing the remaining 125 kilometers of track doubling. The ongoing work is progressing at a rapid pace, with construction activities taking place in full swing. This phase involves doubling the tracks between Shindawane-Ambale, Valha-Lonand, Adarki-Palsi, Jarandeshwar-Satara, Koregaon-Shenoli, and Nandre-Miraj sections.

The completion of the entire 280-kilometer doubling project will significantly contribute to improving train operations in the Pune-Miraj section. The upgraded infrastructure will facilitate faster train speeds and reduce the time taken for train crossings, thus enhancing overall operational efficiency.

The Pune-Miraj Doubling Project holds immense importance in enhancing connectivity and promoting economic growth in the region. It will not only benefit passengers by reducing travel time but also boost freight transportation, enabling smoother movement of goods.

The authorities overseeing the project are committed to its successful execution within the stipulated time frame. They aim to ensure minimal disruption to train services during the construction phase, while prioritizing the safety of both passengers and workers involved in the project.

The completion of this crucial rail infrastructure project will contribute to the development and modernization of the Pune-Miraj railway corridor, opening new avenues for growth and progress in the region.
