Pune: MLA Sunil Tingre Vows Major Transformation for Vishrantwadi-Kalas Area
Pune, 9th November 2024: MLA Sunil Tingre, the NCP candidate from Vadgaonsheri constituency, has pledged to transform the Vishrantwadi-Kalas area with large-scale development projects in the coming years. Speaking during a padyatra (footmarch) in Kalas on Saturday, Tingre interacted with local voters, outlining his plans for the region and receiving an enthusiastic response from citizens.
Tingre emphasized that a major demand from the residents—a flyover at Vishrantwadi Chowk—is already being addressed. “More than Rs 60 crore in funding has been allocated for the construction of a flyover and grade separator at Vishrantwadi Chowk,” he said. The project is expected to significantly ease traffic congestion for motorists traveling to Lohgaon, Dhanori, Tingrenagar, Vishrantwadi, Kalas, and Alandi.
He further assured that the flyover construction will not interfere with future metro plans to Alandi and Pune Airport. “The work is progressing swiftly, and soon, drivers will no longer have to deal with the traffic bottleneck at this intersection,” Tingre added.
Highlighting the cultural significance of the area, Tingre noted that the Alandi-Vishrantwadi Road is a key highway leading to Alandi, Dehu, and Vadhu Budruk, important pilgrimage sites for the Varkari sect. As a tribute, statues of Sant Shri Dnyaneshwar Maharaj, Sant Shri Tukaram Maharaj, and Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj have been installed at a square in Kalas.
Tingre’s walk saw participation from a large number of Mahayuti activists, local residents, and former MLA and BJP leader Jagdish Mulik, who accompanied him on the padayatra.
