Pune: MSRTC starts intra-district bus operations, buses to operate at half their capacity

Pune, August 08, 2020: After a gap of four months, the Maharashtra State Road Transport Corporation (MSRTC) has now started intra-district bus service for Pune for around 40 routes within the district limits.
The state transport has issued a press statement in which they mentioned that the service is available at the same fare and there is no need for an epass for passengers.
The routes including Baramati-Pune, Bhor-Pune, Shirur-Pune, Saswad-Pune, Narayangaon-Pune, Rajgurunagar-Pune, Indapur-Pune, Daund-Patas-Pune, Nira-Pune, Junnar-Pune, Alephata-Pune, Bhimashankar-Pune, Velha-Pune, Paud-Mulshi-Pune, Baramati-Bhigwan, Baramati-Walchandnagar, Baramati-Daund, Swargate-Velha, Talegaon-Chakan-Shikrapur, Narayangaon-Junnar, Junnar-Deole and few others.
MSRTC Pune Divisional Controller Yamini Joshi said, “We have started intra-district operations for Pune district using 55 buses. The buses are carrying passengers at half of the capacity. A bus has around 44 seats, and we will be using only 22 seats. The state transport is following the government’s guidelines of maintaining social distancing, using masks and others. Around 10-12 buses are operating from two depots of Pune, Wakdewadi and Stargate, to the rural areas.”
