Pune: Mula-Mutha River Rejuvenation Project Logo And Mascot Unveiled

Pune, 2nd January 2023: The Puneri logo and mascot, created in connection with the Mula-Mutha river rejuvenation project, which is important for the city of Pune, was unveiled today by Pune District Guardian Minister and Higher and Technical Education Minister Chandrakant Patil.

A website, www.punere.in, containing information about various competitions conducted under this project was also launched. On this occasion, Patil was informed about the first phase of the project.

Pune city is known as the cultural capital of Maharashtra. This city is situated on the banks of the Mula-Mutha river. The Pune Municipal Corporation has undertaken a project to revive the Mula-Mutha river, which is important for the citizens of Pune city.

The project was inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. After that, the work of the first phase of this project started. Today, the logo and mascot were unveiled by Guardian Minister Patil, along with a website created to inform about the various activities, competitions, and activities to be carried out under the project.

The program was attended by Municipal Commissioner Vikram Kumar, Additional Municipal Commissioner (Estate) Dr Kunal Khemnar, Additional Municipal Commissioner (General) Ravindra Binwade, Additional Municipal Commissioner (Special) Vikas Dhakne, Chief Engineer Srinivas Bonala, City Engineer Prashant Waghmare, Standing Committee Former Chairman Hemant Rasane, Municipal Corporation officials, and citizens.

The six main objectives of the Mula-Mutha River Rejuvenation Project are to clean and de-pollute the river, reduce the risk of flooding, create public spaces along the river, retain water in the river, improve access to the river, and integrate historic buildings, parks and existing spaces. Information and a pledge will be given on behalf of the Pune Municipal Corporation about the exact benefit of the project to the citizens. This pledge is in line with water saving, and environmental conservation.

Pune Municipal Corporation is conducting various activities under the guidance of the Municipal Commissioner for the citizens of Pune city to get information about the Mula-Mutha river revitalization project and to clear their doubts about the project and is also holding various competitions. Also, an ‘Experience Center’ will be created to inform the citizens about how this project will be done. Apart from this, various competitions like reels, photography, emojis, memories and drawing competitions for school students have also been organized. All these activities will be implemented by the Pune Municipal Corporation through social media pages.
