Pune: Nad-Roop, a premier Kathak dance institute to perform a unique dance choreography on Saturday
Pune, 11th May 2022: Nad-Roop Dance Academy on its 35th anniversary has organized a special dance program called ‘Churning-Within and Around’ on Saturday, May 14 at 5.30 pm at Yashwantrao Chavan Natyagriha in Kothrud.
The evening will commence with the unique dance choreography ‘Churning- Within and Around’, by Pt. Shama Bhate, during which her disciples will unfold the emotional shades of the COVID period through their dance by narrating experiences of how the world faced the crisis in the past two years with a hope of survival. Rahul Ranade and Vinay Ramdasan have composed the music while the concept and direction is by Guru Shama Bhate.
After this, a small video of Nad-Roop’s association with well-known composer Late Narendra Bhide will be shown, followed by the performance of budding artists of Nad-Roop.
Chief Guest Dr. Sameer Melinkeri Head of COVID Facility Department at Dinanath Mangeshkar Hospital, Vijay Bhatkar, Computer Scientist, Air Chief Marshal Bhushan Gokhale, General Vinayak Patankar, Dr. Dilip Mane, Managing Director of Noble Hospital, H. K. Saale, Executive Director of Noble Hospital and Vivek Sawant, Former Managing Director of MKCL will be present during the program.
Shama Bhate, has been working relentlessly in Kathak dance for the last 50 years and has been honoured with various awards including Maharashtra State Award, Bundeli Gaurav Award and Guru Rohini Bhate Award given by the Government of Maharashtra. She has over six hundred disciples in Nad-Roop. Under the aegis of Nad-Roop, more than 100 workshops, lecture-demonstrations, festivals, seminars have been presented across the country. Adding modernity to the traditional dance form, the Academy has gained a reputation all over India for its ingenious and innovative performances.
