The protest was led by NCP city president Prashant Jagtap. “The central government has caused the biggest inflation in the last 75 years. It is difficult to survive for the poor due to rising prices of petrol, diesel and gas prices. Given the current state of inflation in Sri Lanka, the central government should bring inflation under control. Otherwise, it could happen to us,” Jagtap said.

“Also, as soon as Eknath Shinde’s government come to the state, it was decided to increase the power tariff. It has become clear that whatever was spent by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) government in the state when it came to power, it should be recovered from the general public’s electricity tariff hike,” Jagtap said.
