Pune District Has Most Dengue Patients In Maharashtra

Pune, 11th July 2022: In the number of dengue patients in Maharashtra, the Pune district stands at the top of the list. By the end of June, 1,146 dengue patients were found across the state among which 305 patients were from the Pune district. Experts said that the number is high due to the large population and check-ups.

Moreover, among these dengue patients in the state, no death has been reported yet. Among those 305 patients in the district, 147 patients are from the Pune city area, 137 patients are from rural areas of the district, and 27 patients are from Pimpri-Chinchwad.

“An action plan program has been issued to all the districts by the State Pest Control Department. If the citizens don’t let the water to collect, then the spread of dengue will be curtailed,” said Dr Mahendra Jagtap, State Entomologist.
