Pune: Notorious Bike Thief Changes Clothes After Stealing Bikes To Avoid Arrest, Arrested
Hadapsar 19th Sept 2023: The Crime Branch Unit of Pune City Police has arrested a notorious criminal from Hadapsar for allegedly stealing motorcycles. The police officials have seized eight motorcycles from his possession. The accused’s idea of changing clothes after the theft made it difficult for the police officials also to find him.
According to police, the accused identified as Mujaffar alias Salman Radik Pathan (26), a resident of Manjari Khurd area was arrested after the police spotted him in CCTV cameras stealing a bike. The arrest revealed that the accused used to wear 8 to 10 shirts while stealing the bike and used to change the shirts every few meters after stealing the bike to ensure that he is not recognised in the CCTV cameras and if anybody noticed him escaping from the spot they also failed to chase him.
The police have managed to solve eight different cases following his arrest and 8 bikes worth Rs 1,85,000 have been seized from his possession. The police are investigating further in the matter.
