Pune: Now Rahul Kalate Files Nomination Form As Independent Candidate For Chinchwad By-Election
Chinchwad, 7th February 2033: The upcoming Chinchwad by-election, which is being referred to as a semi final ahead of next year’s assembly election in Maharashtra, are expected to feature a triangular race.
Laxman Jagtap, a sitting MLA and prominent BJP figure, passed away, leaving the Chinchwad seat in the Pune district vacant.
After Rahul Kalate filed his nomination on the last day as an independent candidate, it became evident that there would be a three-way fight between Ashwini Jagtap, the wife of Laxman Jagtap, and Nana Kate, a member of the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP).
Each of the three is a strong prospect with a significant financial impact. For instance, the late MLA Laxman Jagtap had a stronghold over Sangavi, Pimple Gurav, and Pimple Nilakh. It goes without saying that his wife Ashwini Jagtap will receive the votes from these specific areas.
However, Nana Kate, a former corporator and opposition figure, is particularly active in the Chinchwad central area, which encompasses the nearby communities of Rahatani, Kalewadi, Ravet, and Thergaon. Kate will edge out the competition with the help of these pockets.
Rahul Kalate has strongholds in the neighbourhoods of Wakad, Rahatni, Dange Chowk, and Thergaon. Because he personally resolved numerous local problems, he has a sizable following in these areas.
In the middle of debates about Kate or Kalate, NCP on Tuesday announced that Kate will represent NCP in the Chinchwad by-election, leading Kalate to decide to run as an independent.
Kalate ran as a Shiv Sena renegade candidate in the Chinchwad poll during the 2019 assembly election and won a got a substantial number of votes. His participation in this by-election has presented a problem for the other contenders.
