Pune : Number Of PMPML Pass Holders Increase, Over 49K Avail Facility In July This Year
Pune 8th August 2023: The Pune Mahanagar Parivahan Mahamandal Limited (PMPML) provides concession in the pass facility for citizens and several schemes are also run to encourage the usage of passes while using public transport. According to the official data, the number of pass holders for PMPML transport has increased compared to last year. This has increased the revenue of PMPML from sale of the passes.
According to officials, a total of 49,308 passes were sold under different categories in July this year compared to 39,892 passes sold in the same month last year. The PMPML has earned a revenue of Rs 4.8 Crore through this compared to Rs 2.75 Crore recorded in July last year.
A significant increase in the number of student passes has been recorded as 1.75 lakh passes were sold in July this year compared to 1.33 lakh sold in the same month last year. Similarly, the number of passes sold to the general commuters has also increased to 23,430 from 19,950.
It may be noted that the PMPML provides concessions to various categories of commuters under the pass scheme. This includes passes for students, senior citizens, general commuters, PMC and PCMC employee passes. There are about 10 different categories under which the passes are issued from 57 different pass centers of PMPML. For students, five different types of passes are sold while four different types of passes for general commuters are sold.
