Pune: One Dead, Two Injured In Syed Nagar In Violent Clash
Wanwadi, 17th August 2023: A violent clash erupted between two factions in Syed Nagar, Wanwadi area of Pune, resulting in a fatality and leaving two individuals critically wounded. The incident transpired on the night of Thursday.
The vicinity was teeming with local residents when the altercation unfolded. Simultaneously, the resurgence of the criminal gang has been underscored by two recent murder incidents in the past three days.
The deceased has been identified as Azim Shaikh, also known as Antya, aged 35 and a resident of Wanwadi. The identities of the injured parties involved in the assault are currently unavailable. Authorities have initiated the process of filing a case at Wanwadi police station.
Azim had been a resident within the jurisdiction of Wanwadi police station and had a history of prior legal entanglements. The conflict emerged when he entered Syed Nagar on Thursday night, sparking a confrontation with the opposing faction. Amidst the dispute, Azim fell victim to a lethal assault by a rival gang wielding a deadly weapon, resulting in his demise.
The assault also inflicted severe injuries upon two additional individuals. Both victims sustained fractured fingers due to defensive injuries. In response, the crime branch police, in conjunction with local police place, promptly arrived at the scene.
A comprehensive investigation has been expedited under the guidance of senior police officers, including Deputy Commissioner of Police (crime) Amol Zende, ACP Satish Govekar, and ACP Sunil Tambe.
