A few years ago, a one-way traffic experiment was successfully implemented in Lonavala between Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Chowk and Bhangarwadi Indrayani Bridge. This one-way traffic was closed during the Corona period and later due to the work of Pandit Nehru Road.

According to this new change, the vehicles going to Bhangarwadi side will proceed from Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Chowk and from Bhangarwadi to Lonavla market and further to Gawliwada Naka area, the vehicles going from Indrayani bridge in front of Purandare School, Sanjivani Hospital, Ranade Hospital will come to Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Chowk in front of Lonavala City Police Station.

Shopkeepers and citizens on both these roads should not park their vehicles on the road. Lonavala city police have appealed to keep the roads clear for passenger vehicles. Police and Warden will be deployed at Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Chowk and Indrayani Bridge. Also, there will be police inspectors and other officers and employees to enforce one-way traffic. Officials of the Lonavla Municipal Council will also be present.

Citizens should also drive according to this change and co-operate with the administration to reduce traffic congestion in the city. This change has been made for the convenience of all and as per the demand of all. Police have also appealed to citizens to not give any unnecessary reasons and should travel the route guided by the officials and co-operate to reduce the traffic jam. Citizens are also advised not to quarrel with the police personnel or the warden. Violators of the rules will also be penalized.
